Fatima, age 96, from Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. Accompanied by her grandkids and others, she rode a horse to the Iranian border, bused across Iran and Turkey, and on the morning this photo was taken took a crowded boat from Turkey to Lesvos during a thunderstorm. Here she is in the port of Mytilene, waiting for a 1:00 a.m. ferry for Athens.
