I spent half of 2010 photographing life in several countries around the Middle East, including in Egypt. I had been home for several weeks, enjoying the break from the road, when demonstrations began in Cairo in late January 2011. After several days of watching from afar as the demonstrations progressed, I booked a flight to Cairo. These images were taken in and around Tahrir Square between February 2 and February 25.
