Kyiv, Ukraine - February 13, 2022: A woman stands at the Mirror Field installation in Babi Yar. From a description at the memorial: "The tree of life is of particular importance to Judaism. The arrangement of columns is borrowed from its graph image, in the form of the connected sephirot. The Babyn Yar tragedy shows how easily the tree can be destroyed; how easily its branches are broken. The columns are shot through with hundreds of thousands of bullets of the same caliber as those used to kill the victims of Babyn Yar. Here one meets oneself and sees their reflection riddled with bullet holes. The installation is open 24/7; at night the light and sound of memory passes through the holes."
