Iranian tourists visit the Greek Orthodox monastery of St. Thecla (Mar Takla), located in the small town of Maaloula, which is one of the few remaining Aramaic-speaking communities in the world. In addition to the grave of Saint Thecla, the convent is home to a small orphanage for girls.
