A taxi drives past a T-72 tank that now stands as a memorial as one enters the town of Shushi in Nagorno-Karabakh. In May 1992 the tank was part of the successful Armenian attack on the Azeri-held city; it was hit and two of its crew killed. In 1991 Nagorno-Karabakh broke away from Azerbaijan, declaring independence. Internationally, however, it is still recognized as part of Azerbaijan.
